M. LOHRUM
JUNE 2025M. Lohrum, is a multidisciplinary visual artist living in the Canary Islands and working mostly between Spain and the UK. She specializes in performative drawing, a practice that combines drawing with performance, video, and installation. She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna in 2013, later completed a Master’s in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in London (2015–2017). She also holds a PhD in Fine Art on Performative Drawing (ULL, 2023).
M. Lohrum’s live performances often involve participants but she also produces work on her own in the studio, often using her whole body and props. Her projects have been shown internationally, including exhibitions in USA, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, or the UK among other countries. She has participated in residencies such as Tokyo Geidai Residency and the Draw to Perform residency. She won the first prize of the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize in 2020, and she has just been awarded the Third Prize (Anne Judd Award) of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.
