CLAUDIA GUERREIRO

JANUARY 2026

Claudia Guerreiro stayed with us in January to develop her project and research: As coisas em Si / The Things in Themselves.

“The idea of a constellation is often used when talking about artistic relationships. But a constellation is a group of stars with an apparent connection; the group doesn’t actually exist — the relationship is merely visual, a condition of our perspective.
I’m looking for something that has a real connection, closer to the idea of a planetary system, in which different planets truly orbit around a common element: me.”

Cláudia Guerreiro was born in Lisbon in 1980. She graduated in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon in 2004, after attending four years of the Drawing course at S.N.B.A. She completed her Master’s degree in Scientific Illustration at ISEC in 2012. Her artistic journey began in the 1990s at the studio of sculptors Jorge Vieira and Noémia Cruz. She currently develops her work both in her studio and in artistic residencies, in fields such as sculpture, drawing, illustration, scenography, and music.

She has an extensive portfolio of visual and sound publications and has been exhibiting her work, both individually and collectively, since 2001. She is a founding member of the band Linda Martini and of the duo Azenha (Cláudia Guerreiro + Filho da Mãe).
